1. Study the scripture until you are fully persuaded that the baptism of the Holy
Ghost is real and you haven't received the Holy Ghost.
2. Make sure you have definitely accepted Jesus Christ as your savior. Just to make sure,
go ahead and pray a prayer of confession, declaring who he is to you, asking forgiveness
for how you have failed him, and asking him to take control of your life.
3. Understand that he will not knock you down and manifest his gifts without your cooperation.
On the Day of Pentecost, the disciples spoke as the Spirit gave the utterance.
4. Pray and ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Ghost and expect him to immediately do what you asked.
5. Lift up your hands and begin to worship him, opening your mouth and expecting him to give
you the utterance to speak. It doesn't matter what it sounds like, just speak it out. This is
your point of contact to release your faith in believing he did what you asked.
Note: If you will continue at #1 until you are so hungry to receive the Holy Spirit that
you don't want to live another day without Him and His power in your life, the rest is easy.
But if you only want to try and see if it's real or what it might be like, then don't
waste your time because there is no faith involved in that.
You might also consider finding a Pentecostal or Charismatic church that believes in the
Baptism in the Holy Ghost and asking the pastor to lay hands on you and pray for you to
receive the Holy Ghost. The transfer of the Holy Ghost from one person to another
through the laying on of hands has been practiced since the early church and can
assist a person in receiving the Holy Ghost.
